'I Handle Sh*t': Ben Affleck Talks Being Batman on 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon'

Hey, Internet. I know that you've had a busy few days. That last episode of Breaking Bad shook you up pretty good. Then there's was that "Justin Bieber is going to play Robin" scare a couple nights ago. I'm sure you haven't forgotten that Ben Affleck will be playing Batman in the upcoming Man of Steel sequel though. Yeah, Internet, you had a rough week with that one. Everyone weighed in on whether or not the world was going to end because Affleck was now the Dark Knight. (Hopefully you listened to me when I said things would be OK.)

There was one person we didn't hear from during those trying times: Affleck himself. On Monday night the director/actor appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, presumably to promote Runner Runner, his movie with Falpal Justin Timberlake, giving Jimmy Fallon the chance to be the first person to publicly talk to Affleck about becoming Batman. Fallon did just that, transitioning from a conversation about Affleck's kids by pointing out that "Daddy's gonna be Batman now."

Affleck sounded excited about director Zack Snyder's take on the character, while still cautiously mentioning that, "Obviously you can't do what [Christopher Nolan] and [Christian Bale] did. Those movies are amazing." According to Affleck, Warner Bros. tried to prep him for the eventual negative online reaction, showing him what fans had to say about previous Batman castings and even advising that he stay away from the Internet for a few days.

I'm looking forward to Affleck's version of Batman. When he and Fallon talked about the future Comic-Con push for the character, that definitely made the casting real. There's an entirely new world of Batman that's about to hit the big screen. There'll be costume unveilings, new versions of the Batmobile to check out — exciting times.

Head past the jump to check out Affleck talking about Batman on Late Night.
