'Now I Am Become Death, the Destroyer of Worlds': The 'Godzilla' Reboot Comic-Con Teaser Trailer Has Leaked

YES. Yes, yes, yes. This is how you do a teaser trailer. When Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures made their surprise announcement at Comic-Con two years ago that Monsters director Gareth Edwards was working on a Godzilla reboot, the studios stunned the crowd with a teaser for the movie. That teaser has finally made its way online, most likely in advance of an official release.

After seeing what Edwards did with Monsters, I have an incredible amount of faith in what he'll do with Godzilla. This isn't going to be another Matthew Broderick disaster.

The teaser trailer is quick, but highly effective. A slow journey through a city in absolute ruins with several dead monsters who aren't Godzilla is paired with J. Robert Oppenheimer's infamous "Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds" post-nuclear bomb test quote. The camera pans up through the smoke and dust, suddenly revealing the big fella himself. As we saw in the most recent Godzilla poster, this movie isn't shying away when it comes to making him massive.

Godzilla hits theaters on May 16, 2014, and stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Olsen and Ken Watanabe. Head past the jump to check out the leaked Comic-Con teaser trailer.
