TRAILER: 'Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit' Features Chris Pine in a 'Bourne'-ified Reboot of Tom Clancy's Character

If Paramount had always planned on releasing the first poster and trailer for Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, man, do they have some awkward timing. To begin promotion of the Jack Ryan reboot right along with the death of Tom Clancy is a ballsy move. Then again, maybe the audience the studio is targeting with this movie will never even know that happened.

Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit sees Star Trek's Chris Pine take over the title role, following in the footsteps of Harrison Ford, Alec Baldwin and Ben Affleck. Based on the newly released trailer for the movie, it looks like director Kenneth Branagh is going to steer his take on the franchise clear of those previous versions, as Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit looks very Bourne-ish. It's amazing how that one action franchise could have such an impact on the evolution of the James Bond, Mission: Impossible and now Jack Ryan franchises.
