BOX OFFICE REPORT (NOV. 22-24): 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' Sets November Record
Moving down from the No. 1 spot, the rest of the box office was kind of flat. Thor: The Dark World and The Best Man Holiday both fell roughly 60 percent from last weekend. Vince Vaughn's Delivery Man couldn't even break $10 million, making it the worst opening weekend for a wide release in the actor's career.
1. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (NR)
Weekend gross: $161.13 million / Total domestic gross: $161.13 million /
Percent drop: NA
There was time, just a little over five years ago, when an opening weekend higher than $160 million would've been able to claim the biggest opening weekend in history. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is actually the second opening weekend of 2013 of $160 million or more that had to settle for a runner-up spot, with Iron Man 3's $174.14 million also not good enough to beat The Avengers' $207.44 million.
2. Thor: The Dark World (1st)
Weekend gross: $14.12 million / Total domestic gross: $167.84 million /
Percent drop: 61.4
After outpacing the original Thor the past two weekends, Thor: The Dark World fell behind the 2011 movie's third weekend gross. Overall, Thor: The Dark World is still ahead of Thor's total domestic gross through three weekends.

3. The Best Man Holiday (2nd)
Weekend gross: $12.52 million / Total domestic gross: $50.39 million /
Percent drop: 58.3
When it costs only $17 million to make a movie and that movie makes over $50 million through it's first two weekends, you're doing something right. It's no wonder that Universal is already working on a sequel to The Best Man Holiday, moving a little quicker to make this sequel happen than they did to make The Best Man Holiday happen.

4. Delivery Man (NR)

Going back to 2011, Vaughn's past four big releases have struggled to find box office success. The Dilemma opened to $17.82 million, The Watch opened to $12.75 million and The Internship opened to $17.33 million. Not good. I'm not sure how Vaughn goes about fixing this problem. Even teaming up with his Wedding Crashers costar Owen Wilson for The Internship couldn't fix things, but that might have been because The Internship wasn't a movie — it was a giant commercial for Google.
5. Free Birds (4th)
Weekend gross: $5.30 million / Total domestic gross: $48.59 million /
Percent drop: 34.6

Free Birds still hasn't made its budget back. Not sure if it will.
Next week's predictions
1. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
2. Frozen
3. Thor: The Dark World
4. The Best Man Holiday
5. Homefront
