Spidey Fights Lightning in New 'Amazing Spider-Man 2' Poster

According to a newly released poster for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man will face his greatest foe ... lightning? Hmmm.

After the triple-poster that was unveiled at the beginning of December, this new poster is kind of a letdown. Just Spider-Man facing some storm clouds with lightning coming out of them? Is that really how you follow up the Webslinger fighting Electro, the Rhino and the Green Goblin in Time Square? This really doesn't live up to great Spider-Man posters of the past.

I have a theory that Sony didn't intend for that triple-poster to be revealed when it was. Those posters gave away a ton of secrets about the movie, beating the much-hyped trailer to introducing Dane DeHaan's Harry Osborn as the Green Goblin. A poster like this new one gives some weight to my theory.
