NBC Confirms That 'Parks and Recreation' Will Be Back for Another Season, Leaves 'Community' in Limbo

We've known for a few weeks now that NBC was planning on picking up Parks and Recreation, but on Wednesday, the network made it official. In addition to renewing Parks and Rec for the show's seventh season, NBC also gave pickups to Grimm, Chicago Fire and Chicago PD.

Noticeably missing from NBC's renewals so far is Community. With creator Dan Harmon back at the helm, Community has once against become one of television's must-watch comedies. Like most of NBC's Thursday night lineup, Community doesn't score well in the ratings, but after the failures of Sean Saves the World and The Michael J. Fox Show, NBC has proven incapable of finding something that does better.

Community is just a season and a movie away from making good on its mantra of #SixSeasonsandaMovie. Hopefully NBC does its part and gives Community that sixth season.
