Oscar Nominee Hailee Steinfeld Joins 'Pitch Perfect 2'

Lesser websites would probably kick this story off with some kind of a cappella pun. We won't make you suffer through that, instead cutting right to the chase and letting you know that Hailee Steinfeld has been cast in Pitch Perfect 2.

Steinfeld, who was nominated for an Oscar for True Grit, will join fellow Oscar nominee Anna Kendrick along with Rebel Wilson and Brittany Snow in the sequel to the surprise hit Pitch Perfect, Variety reported on Wednesday.

Despite scoring an Oscar nomination at a young age, Steinfeld has yet to capitalize on that potential, most recently appearing in the disappointing Ender's Game. Maybe Pitch Perfect 2 will be what she needs to make good on that Oscar buzz.

Pitch Perfect 2 will be directed be Elizabeth Banks and open on May 15, 2015.
