The 'Goosebumps' Movie Starring Jack Black Now Slotted for August 2015

How hard is it to release a Goosebumps movie around Halloween? In case you missed the news a few months ago, 20 years after you read RL Stine's books, there's a movie coming out based on them. Jack Black is on board to star as an author whose characters come to life and go after him.

Originally, Goosebumps was going to be released on March 23, 2016, but Sony shifted the movie to Aug. 7, 2015, this week. Look, I'll obviously go see a Goosebumps movie in August, but wouldn't it make more sense to release it two months late in October? Maybe Sony will move Goosebumps again once we get closer to 2015. Fox's Assassin's Creed adaption is also currently slotted for Aug. 7, 2015.
