2014 Emmys: 'Breaking Bad' Goes Out on Top, 'Modern Family' Keeps Winning Awards

The Emmys are a funny thing. According to Emmy voters, Modern Family is the greatest comedy of the past decade and Jim Parsons is a far superior comedian to Louis CK. But on the flip side, those voters understand that Bryan Cranston, Anna Gunn and Aaron Paul are TV acting treasures, all thanks to Breaking Bad. I'll never understand how the Emmys can get so much so very wrong but still nail a few key awards.

At the Emmys on Monday night, Breaking Bad went out on top, taking home awards for Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actor, Outstanding Supporting Actor and Supporting Actress (all for drama). Breaking Bad lead the night with five awards. Despite leading nominations, Game of Thrones didn't win a single award. Netflix's acclaimed series were just as unlucky, getting shut out too.

Beyond the awards, highlights of the show included a very touching tribute to Robin Williams by his close friend, Billy Crystal. Cranston and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series Julia Louis-Dreyfus had some fun too, playing off their shared Seinfeld history as presenters and sharing a passionate makeout session after Louis-Dreyfus' win. Jimmy Fallon got in on the fun (not the makeout fun) and tried to claim Stephen Colbert's win after Gwen Stefani mispronounced Colbert's name.
