'Star Wars Rebels' Gets a 7-Minute Extended Look

The more people are seeing from Star Wars Rebels, the more it sounds like fans are excited about the next phase of the Star Wars universe. Fans got to see a lot more of Rebels on Monday night when Lucasfilm revealed a seven-minute extended look at the upcoming animated series.

Star Wars Rebels executive producers Dave Filoni and Simon Kinberg are doing something right with this series. I loved Star Wars: The Clone Wars, but that series didn't evoke the Original Trilogy like Rebels is doing.

There are so many moments during this extended preview where I was taken back to the original Star Wars movies. Speeder bikes that sound like the speeder bikes in Return of the Jedi, the roar of a TIE fighter, hints of John Williams soundtrack — Star Wars Rebels is definitely a child of the Original Trilogy, not the Prequel Trilogy.

Star Wars Rebels airs on Disney XD beginning in October.
