The resurgence of The Simpsons continues. After years of being mocked as not funny or irrelevant, The Simpsons is once again a pop culture force to be reckoned with. FXX's marathon of every Simpsons episode ever garnered nearly three times the rating the network expected. There's going to be a Simpsons-Family Guy crossover coming (which, I don't think is a good idea). Come November, we'll also get a Simpsons-Futurama crossover.

Unlike Family Guy, Futurama isn't on the air anymore, meaning this will give fans of the show one more chance to see their favorite characters interact with Matt Groening's other, more famous show.

"That was a really tough one to negotiate, because I had to talk to myself," Groening told Entertainment Weekly.

EW also released the first picture from "Simpsorama," pairing up Futurama's Bender with The Simpsons' Homer. Simpsons executive producer Al Jean notes that this duo holds a special place in the episode, saying, "We do a joke, actually, about how similar Bender and Homer look. Like, they just erased Homer's hair."

The crossover—which features Futurama voicecast members Billy West, John DiMaggio, Katey Sagal, Lauren Tom, Phil LaMarr, Tress MacNeille, and Maurice LaMarche—will unspool a complex, Terminator-esque story that involves Bart blowing his nose on a sandwich that he places in a time capsule. When that mixes with Milhouse’s rabbit’s foot and some radioactive ooze, it creates a global catastrophe in the future, prompting Bender to travel back in time to kill Bart and prevent this mega-mess. And as you’d imagine, “Simpsorama” teems with Futurama inside jokes and a Simpsonized tweak of its title sequence. Adds Jean: “There’s a thing in Futurama code where if you solve it, it says, ‘Congratulations! You’re a nerd.’”

"Simpsorama" airs on Nov. 9.
