'SNL' Adds Pete Davidson, Makes Return of Sasheer Zamata, Beck Bennett and Kyle Mooney Official
Saturday Night Live had one final move to make before its 40th season begins on Sept. 27. Deadline broke the news that comedian Pete Davidson had been added to the cast as a featured player.
Davidson is a 20-year-old comedian from Staten Island. According to Deadline, he lost his firefighter father on 9/11 and used comedy as outlet for his grief.
In addition to adding Davidson, SNL has officially brought back Sasheer Zamata, Beck Bennett and Kyle Mooney as featured players and moved Mike O'Brien, who was a featured player last season, back to the writers' room. O'Brien joins Brooks Wheelan, Noel Wells and John Milhiser as featured players who won't return for SNL's 40th season.
In addition to the featured player shuffle, Nasim Pedrad departed SNL during the offseason and Lorne Michaels replaced Cecily Strong with Michael Che as Colin Jost's "Weekend Update" co-anchor.
