'True Detective' Wants Rachel McAdams and Taylor Kitsch for Its Other Two Lead Roles
On Wednesdays, will True Detective wear pink? Variety reported on Thursday that Mean Girls star Rachel McAdams has been offered one of the final two lead roles for Season 2 of True Detective. Taylor Kitsch is expected to win the other remaining lead role.
After having just two leads during its inaugural season, True Detective has doubled its main cast for the next season. Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn were announced as the first two leads for the upcoming season by HBO on Tuesday.
According to Variety, McAdams beat out other actresses like Jessica Biel and Malin Akerman for the role. Mad Men star Elisabeth Moss had long been rumored to be in the running for the role too.
McAdams and Kitsch will join Farrell as detectives in Season 2. Vaughn is playing a career criminal.
