TERMINATOR: GENISYS Continues to Look Awful
Oh boy. Entertainment Weekly rolled out more pics and info from Terminator: Genisys on Thursday — and things continue to look awful.
Look, I can get on board with the whole "Sarah Connor was raised by a Terminator" reboot thing. It's not a bad way to reset the Terminator universe to allow a new trilogy to move forward. Nothing EW is showing the world look good though. Why the yelling? Why the leather jackets? It's as if more thought was put into faking an aura of badassness than actually creating a good movie.
Maybe Terminator: Genisys is just coming across as really, really bad in EW. There's a chance that director Alan Taylor has created a movie that's completely different from what we've seen the past two days. Based on what we saw of Quicksilver before X-Men: Days of Future Past came out, everyone thought that character was going to be the worst thing ever. It turned out that Bryan Singer had created an awesome take on the character. Maybe that's what's happening here.
Hopefully we'll get a teaser trailer soon to clarify whether the movie will be awful or not.
Terminator: Genisys opens on July 1, 2015. The movie stars Emilia Clarke, Jason Clarke, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jai Courtney and Matt Smith.

The beginning of Terminator: Genisys, the first of three planned films that Paramount hopes will relaunch the beloved sci-fi franchise, is set in 2029, when the Future War is raging and a group of human rebels has the evil artificial-intelligence system Skynet on the ropes. John Connor (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes‘ Jason Clarke) is the leader of the resistance, and Kyle Reese (Divergent‘s Jai Courtney) is his loyal soldier, raised in the ruins of postapocalyptic California. As in the original film, Connor sends Reese back to 1984 to save Connor’s mother, Sarah, from a Terminator programmed to kill her so she won’t ever give birth to John. But what Reese finds on the other side is nothing like what he expected.
