Trailer for Neill Blomkamp's CHAPPIE Boasts 'I Am Alive'

What makes something alive? That's the question that the first trailer for Neill Blomkamp's Chappie asks. Chappie tells the story of a robot with advanced artificial intelligence attempting to grow into humanity. You know, kind of like District 9 meets Bicentennial Man.

"I am consciousness. I am alive," Chappie says in the trailer. It definitely sounds like the director is going to explore similar themes as he did in District 9 and Elysium, like Christopher Johnson struggling for his son and Matt Damon trying to save his life.

Chappie stars Blomkamp regular Sharlto Copley (who voices the robot) along with Hugh Jackman, Dev Patel and Sigourney Weaver. The movie opens on March 6, 2015.
