ARROW Star Stephen Amell Will Play Casey Jones in TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES Sequel

Michael Bay's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot was a critical bomb, but the movie made almost $500 million at the worldwide box office. You know what means, right? Yup, a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sequel. And according to Variety, Arrow star Stephen Amell has joined the cast to play Casey Jones.

Variety reports that it was Amell's "chemistry with [Megan Fox] that led to the studio eventually giving the role" of Casey Jones. In the comics and previous movies, Casey Jones would eventually become a love interest for April O'Neil.

Earth to Echo director Dave Green has replaced Jonathan Liebesman as man at the helm of the TMNT franchise, but the most of the first movie's cast will be back for the sequel. Fox and Will Arnett will be joined by Amell as Casey Jones and supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio as a love interest for Arnett's character.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 is scheduled to open on June 3, 2016.
