Director David Ayer Teases Jared Leto's Joker Transformation for SUICIDE SQUAD

Jared Leto's spent the past year winning Oscars and growing a glorious beard and long, flowing hair. If that all wasn't enough, the actor scored the role of the Joker in Suicide Squad.

How will Leto portray the character? He has to live up to Heath Ledger's legendary take on the Joker from The Dark Knight, in addition to Jack Nicholson's famous version from Tim Burton's Batman movie. While we don't know yet just how Leto will bring the Joker to life, we do know one thing: Leto will be without his beard and long hair.

Suicide Squad director David Ayer hinted on Sunday that something big was happening. "Something will happen. Tomorrow. #skwad," he tweeted.

Ayers revealed what that something was on Monday, tweeting two photos to show the beginning of Leto's transformation into the Joker.

Suicide Squad is set to hit theaters on Aug. 5, 2016. I think we're still a few months off (at least) from seeing the Jared Leto version of the Joker. According to Ayers, though, we can expect a Joker who is "majestic."
