Jennifer Lawrence Is Done Playing Mystique After X-MEN: APOCALYPSE

When Jennifer Lawrence signed on to play Mystique in X-Men: First Class, her legend had yet to reach its full height. Sure, she earned an Oscar nomination for Winter's Bone, but she wasn't the star of the Hunger Games megafranchise. She didn't have an Oscar win for Silver Linings Playbook. Or an Oscar nomination for American Hustle.

While Fox would love to have Lawrence continue playing Mystique in the X-Men franchise forever, the actress' contract is nearing completion.

Lawrence will appear in X-Men: Apocalypse next year. She confirmed that it'll be her final movie in the franchise, telling MTV News during an interview: "It is my last one."

X-Men: Apocalypse producer and screenwriter Simon Kinberg has previously said that this film will wrap up a trilogy started by X-Men: First Class, so if Lawrence is looking for an out, this is it.
