Kate Beckinsale Is Returning for UNDERWORLD 5

There's a fifth Underworld movie on the way — and Kate Beckinsale will back to play Selene.

Underworld 5 (which may be titled Underworld: Next Generation) will be directed by Anna Foerster, according to The Hollywood Reporter. She'll follow in the footsteps of Underworld and Underworld: Evolution's Len Wiseman, Underworld: Rise of the Lycans' Patrick Tatopoulos and Underworld: Awakening's Mans Marlind.

The Underworld movies have always been steady performing. All four installments opened between $20 million and $27 million. The movies have also grown popular on the ever-more-important global box office scene, with 2012's Underworld: Awakening grossing $97.8 million outside of North America and $62.3 million in North America.

Beckinsale has appeared in all four Underworld movies, taking on the role of the narrator in the third movie (which was a prequel).
