UPDATE: 'THE AVENGERS' ASSEMBLES $207.4M OPENING WEEKEND

UPDATE: With the box office actuals in, The Avengers final debut weekend number was $207.4 million, picking up an extra $7.1 million.

PREVIOUSLY: We have a new domestic box office champion. The Avengers debuted to a massive $200.3 million domestic box office number. It looks like my $195 million opening weekend guess was off by a few million. Not only did The Avengers crush Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2's opening weekend record of $169.19 million, but the film became the first to pass the $200 million mark.

Three questions remain: Will the actual box office numbers keep The Avengers over the $200 million mark? What will The Avengers' final box office number be? And, how much will The Dark Knight Rises open to now?
