Charlize Theron Went All the Way to Turkey to See an Eclipse ... and Listen to 4 Non Blondes

While on Conan on Tuesday night, Charlize Theron shared a story about the time she decided to take a trip to see a huge eclipse in Turkey. Theron planned out a three-and-a-half-week trip, read a bunch of books and websites and then made a four-hour hike to the spot in Turkey that was recommended. All of this work led to the actress getting to watch the eclipse ... while listening to some random woman sing the 4 Non Blondes' What's Up?

Interestingly enough, What's Up? was also featured in 2011's Young Adult (a film Theron should've been nominated for an Oscar for). Director Jason Reitman didn't even know Theron had a reason to hate the song.

Theron was on Conan to promote this Friday's Prometheus, and with the actress also in the box office-topping Snow White and the Huntsman right now, the actress is clearly having a moment. She seems willing to poke fun at herself, following up a mention of loving both MMA fighting and astronomy with, "I'm so complicated. Very layered ... I'm an asshole."

Theron apparently also auctioned off a date with herself for charity. It didn't go well ...
