TRAILER: Can Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts Survive 'The Impossible' Odds of a Tsunami?

While I've loved a lot of the movies that have been released in 2012 so far, very few have appeared to be Oscar contenders yet. With August wrapping up, though, we're on the cusp of getting some really exciting films — Zero Dark Thirty, Django Unchained and Life of Pi, just to name a few. A film that's kind of run under the radar when it comes to Oscar season is The Impossible, a Spanish-produced film that focuses on the plight of a family torn apart by the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami.

The Impossible stars Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts as the husband and wife who are separated when the 2004 tsunami rips through their resort, separating the family and setting them on a journey to find each other. The film hits theaters on Oct. 11, 2012.
