Your Guide to Jennifer Lawrence Hosting 'Saturday Night Live' Tomorrow
Jennifer Lawrence will host Saturday Night Live this Saturday with music guest The Lumineers. Here's what you need to know about the upcoming episode.
Has Lawrence hosted SNL before?
Nope. This is her first time.
What do we know Lawrence from?
If you've been paying attention to pop culture the past few years, you know who Lawrence is. After breaking onto the scene with an Oscar nomination for 2010's Winter's Bone, the actress jumped into the role of Mystique in X-Men: First Class. In 2012, Lawrence played Katniss Everdeen in a tiny film called The Hunger Games. To ring in the new year, she received a Best Actress Oscar nomination for Silver Linings Playbook. On top of all of that, Lawrence is funny, down to earth and gives adorable Golden Globes acceptance speeches.
Have The Lumineers appeared on SNL before?
Nope. This will be the band's first SNL appearance.
Anything we should expect from this episode?
With Lawrence hosting, it's a safe bet to assume SNL will do a Hunger Games sketch. When Jeremy Renner hosted, he couldn't escape playing Hawkeye in an Avengers sketch, and I can't imagine the show would miss this chance either. When it comes to politics, the presidential inauguration is this Monday, so expect Jay Pharoah to break out his Barack Obama impression. I don't see SNL doing anything Oscar-related yet, but the Golden Globes are ripe for the picking. Kate McKinnon's done a Jodie Foster impression once already during Season 38 — will we get to see her give her own version of Foster's Golden Globes speech? With the big Lance Armstrong interview with Oprah Winfrey finally airing last night, maybe Up All Night's Maya Rudolph could swing by the studio for a sketch.
