World's Finest: Superman/Batman Movie Announced for 2015 With Zack Snyder Directing

Come 2015, Superman and Batman won't be fighting crime alone anymore. In what's probably the biggest news out of Comic-Con yet, Warner Bros. announced that Zack Snyder would direct a Man of Steel sequel that would include both Superman and Batman. The studio also announced that Christopher Nolan would return as executive producer and Henry Cavill would return as Superman. As this version of Batman will be a break from Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy, the new Bruce Wayne has not yet been cast.

Zack Snyder, who made a surprise appearance at Comic-Con today, breaking the news to audiences there, later said, “I’m so excited to begin working again with Henry Cavill in the world we created, and I can’t wait to expand the DC Universe in this next chapter. Let’s face it, it’s beyond mythological to have Superman and our new Batman facing off, since they are the greatest Super Heroes in the world.”

The banner pic is the from Snyder's appearance at Comic-Con. I'm not sure if this'll be the official logo for the movie, but that Batman logo clearly establishes that this isn't Nolan's Batman anymore. There's still a lot we don't know about this movie. What will it actually be called? Superman/Batman? Superman vs. Batman? World's Finest? You can't just go with Man of Steel 2, right? Would Warner Bros. still be interested in having Armie Hammer play the Dark Knight? He was actually going to play the role the last time the studio almost had Justice League happening, but after The Lone Ranger's flop, I'm not sure if people see Hammer as a franchise lead.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. will continue building its universe with a Flash movie in 2016 and Justice League in 2017. In the meantime, a Superman/Batman movie adds to the insanity of 2015.
