Adam Brody to Play an Ex-Boyfriend on 'New Girl'

While Adam Brody never quite made good on his The OC glory, the actor is popping up more and more these days. In addition to the news that he was engaged to Leighton Meester, Brody appeared in a few episodes of The League and had a role in the movie Baggage Claim.

Brody will next bring his Seth Cohen charm to Fox's New Girl, with E! Online reporting Monday that the actor will has a guest stint on the show's 14th episode, playing an ex-boyfriend of Zooey Deschanel's Jess.

Brody's character, Berkeley, is a long-ago blast from Jess' past who prides himself in having mastered the art of being an ex. He's open with his feelings. And you guys, he is decribed as a "hip, stay-at-home dad," so he will probably be holding a baby. Hear that? It's the sound of the ovaries of Adam Brody fans around the world simultaneously exploding.

New Girl has had fantastic luck with guest stars, with Brody joining a list of names that includes Jamie Lee Curtis, Olivia Munn, Dermot Mulroney, Brooklyn Decker and Justin Long, to name a few.
