Andy Samberg, The Lonely Island and Judd Apatow Are Making a Movie

The last time Andy Samberg tried to carry a movie, we got Hot Rod. Which, if you actually saw the movie and love comedy, you know was a hilarious cult hit. Unfortunately, not many people saw Hot Rod, leading to the movie being considered a flop.

Samberg will take a shot at being a movie star again, but this time he's doing so after his Golden Globe-winning performance on Brooklyn Nine-Nine and with comedy godfather Judd Apatow at his side. TheWrap reported on Friday that Universal Pictures had acquired an untitled comedy being driven by Samberg and his The Lonely Island crew.

Samberg will star in the movie, with Lonely Island partners Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone co-directing. Samberg, Schaffer, Taccone and Apatow will produce the movie.
