COMMUNITY Adds Paget Brewster and Keith David for Season 6

Community is bringing a few new members of Greendale when it makes its Yahoo Screen debut. Paget Brewster and Keith David will join the cast, playing a consultant and a retired scientist. Not surprisingly, Yahoo! has the report.

Both Brewster and David boast serious sitcom cred. Along with her six seasons on Criminal Minds, Brewster played Joey's (and then Chandler's) girlfriend Kathy in a memorable Friends arc, and later guest starred on Two and a Half Men, King of the Hill, and Modern Family. David played tough guys for years in movies like Platoon and Armageddon before cracking us up as Command Sergeant Major Donald Cody on Fox's late, lamented military comedy Enlisted.   

With Chevy Chase and Donald Glover now long gone and with the departures of Jonathan Banks, Yvette Nicole Brown and probably John Oliver, Community was in definite need of some new blood. Getting a miraculous last-minute pickup by Yahoo Screen was awesome, but it's no good if there's not a cast to come back for a sixth season.

The addition of Brewster and David isn't the kind of news you throw a parade over, but it's still a sign that Yahoo Screen is investing in Community.

Yahoo also reported that production on the new season of Community begins on Nov. 17 with an premiere expected in early 2015.
