NEIGHBORS Sequel Set for May 2016; Rogen, Efron and Byrne Returning
Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne may have defeated Zac Efron and his frat buddies in Neighbors, but the couple isn't going to enjoy the peaceful suburban life for long. Neighbors 2 will hit theaters on May 13, 2016.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rogen, Byrne and Efron will all return for the sequel, with director Nicholas Stoller also coming back to helm the movie. Neighbors 2 will see the couple played by Rogen and Byrne face off against a sorority that moves in next door. They'll have to turn to Efron's frat to battle their new awful neighbors.
Neighbors grossed over $150 million domestically and only cost $18 million to make, so a sequel makes total sense for Universal Pictures. The movie did a great job giving Efron the Channing Tatum treatment, showing the world that the former pretty boy/Disney Channel star had some real comedic chops and could play off Rogen.
