LEGO MOVIE Spinoff Titled THE BILLION BRICK RACE Coming From Jason Segel and Drew Pearce

Jason Segel brought the Muppet franchise back to life for Disney, and now he'll turn his attention to a franchise that's already thriving at Warner Bros. The How I Met Your Mother actor will write and co-direct a Lego Movie spinoff for Warner Bros. called The Billion Brick Race.

Iron Man 3 scribe Drew Pearce will be Segel's partner-in-crime on The Billion Brick Race. Phil Lord, Chris Miller, Dan Lin and Roy Lee will produce the film for Warner Bros.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, "plot details [for The Billion Brick Race] are being kept hidden deep in Bricksburg. The story will be based on an original idea by Pearce that excited the studio."

The Billion Brick Race would be the fourth movie in Warner Bros.' growing Lego franchise, following last year's The Lego Movie, Lego Ninjago in 2016, The Lego Batman Movie in 2017 and The Lego Movie Sequel in 2018. Segel and Pearce's Lego movie doesn't have a release date yet.
