We're gonna need smarter humans

IBM's Watson supercomputer got a Jeopardy! trial run today. From the looks of things, our descendants will point to this video as they try to figure how the machines took over and just where Skynet came from. Watson doesn't have Internet access and actually learns as he plays the game. Watch when the contestants get to the "M.C." 5 category – Watson doesn't understand it at first but catches on by the end.

Apparently, if Watson wins the actual Jeopardy! event, his winnings will be donated to charity. Careful, Jeopardy!, give this computer enough time to think and learn and he's going to start wanting to keep the money for himself ...
