Weekend Box Office Roundup (July 13-15)

1. Ice Age: Continental Drift (N)
$46.00 million ($46.00 million)
OK, get ready for the last edition of the Weekly Box Office Roundup that will have a film other than The Dark Knight Rises in the top spot for several weeks. Christopher Nolan's final Batman film is about to inhale just about every available box office dollar. Will The Dark Knight Rises' be able to take back the box office crown from The Avengers?

Taking advantage of the final week before The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters, Ice Age: Continental Drift made a respectable $46 million at the box office, roughly what the original Ice Age made back in 2002. Of course, when you factor in inflation and 3D showings, the series' fourth installment didn't exactly live up to past editions. Hopefully this series is at its end.

2. The Amazing Spider-Man (1)
$35.00 million ($200.90 million)
With this past weekend's box office haul, The Amazing Spider-Man passes the $200 million mark, locking in the film's status as a box office hit. The film is just $30 million away from covering its budget. It'll be interesting to see how it performs in following weeks with The Dark Knight Rises serving as superhero competition.

3. Ted (2)
$22.15 million ($159.00 million)
Ted appears to have strong box office legs and should cross the $200 million mark sometime this summer, putting the R-rated comedy in the same company as the Hangover films. While at Comic-Con this past weekend, Seth MacFarlane brought up the possibility of doing a Ted 2, and with the movie's performance so far, a sequel wouldn't be a shocking development.

4. Brave (3)
$10.70 million ($195.60 million)
Like just about every other movie on this list, Brave is about to cross the $200 million mark, becoming the tenth Pixar film to do so. Unfortunately, $200 million is not a big deal for a studio who's past films were not only critical hits but also box office smashes, with Toy Story 3 banking $415.00 million and Finding Nemo making $339.71 million.

5. Magic Mike (5)
$9.03 million ($91.85 million)
Magic Mike holds on to its No. 5 spot at the box office for a second weekend. Channing Tatum alluded to being open to a sequel, which for a movie that's more than made its budget back, should be a no-brainer.

Next week's predictions:
1. The Dark Knight Rises
2. Ice Age: Continental Drift
3. Ted
4. The Amazing Spider-Man
5. Brave
