BOX OFFICE REPORT (OCT. 19-21): 'Paranormal Activity 4' Scares Up a Box Office Win
1. Paranormal Activity 4 (N)
$30.20 million ($30.20 million)
The latest Paranormal Activity movie won the weekend, but failed to live up the franchise's past numbers in doing so. Paranormal Activity 4's $30.20 million is the lowest debut since the first Paranormal Activity. With the original's viral marketing campaign/release, its not fair to hold its box office numbers up for comparison. Paranormal Activity 4 is a disappointment compared to Paranormal Activity 2 and Paranormal Activity 3.
Paranormal Activity 4 will have to compete with Cloud Atlas and Silent Hill: Revelation 3D next weekend. I really haven't found anyone who's excited about Cloud Atlas, so I don't expect the Wachowski siblings newest movie to be a big box office factor.
2. Argo (2)
$30.20 million ($30.20 million)

2. Argo (2)
$16.63 million ($43.19 million)
I still haven't seen Argo. After adopting a beagle last week, my weekends have been focused on getting her adjusted to her new life and home. Once I get back on the movie train, Argo will be the first stop.
3. Hotel Transylvania (4)
$13.50 million ($119.00 million)
Really? Why is Hotel Transylvania still in the top five but Looper isn't? Some of you need to reevaluate your lives.

4. Taken 2 (1)
$13.40 million ($105.97 million)
That was a quick fall for Taken 2, dropping from a two-week stint at No. 1 down to No. 4 in only its third weekend. I wonder if Liam Neeson's special set of skills will include making Taken 3 a reality.

5. Alex Cross (N)
$11.75 million ($11.75 million)
Yeesh. People don't want to see Tyler Perry unless he's in drag, huh? Matthew Fox doesn't appear to have much of a movie career either, does he?
Next week's predictions:
1. Argo
2. Silent Hill: Revelation 3D
3. Paranormal Activity 4
4. Hotel Transylvania
5. Cloud Atlas
