'Ice Age: Continental Drift' (and Its 38 Percent Rotten Tomatoes Rating) Thinks It Deserves an Oscar
In today's world, every kid gets a trophy just for showing up, everyone is special and there are no losers. The studios behind Ice Age: Continental Drift clearly think they're living in that world, as they've submitted the film for consideration for the Oscar for Best Animated Feature. In case you missed it in this article's headline, Ice Age: Continental Drift is rocking a 38 percent rating over at Rotten Tomatoes, making it one of the worst movies of the year. I really hope they didn't waste a stamp sending in the paperwork for consideration.
Brave, The Lorax, Frankenweenie, Hotel Transylvania, Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted, ParaNorman, Rise of the Guardians and Wreck-It Ralph were among the other 20 films submitted for consideration. While the film hasn't cracked the OscarIndex top ten, Brave is currently the animated film doing the best on that chart, making Pixar the favorite to win a its seventh Oscar for Best Animated Feature.
