TRAILER: Can Leonardo DiCaprio's Intense 'Django Unchained' Performance Finally Win Him an Oscar?

The third and final trailer for Django Unchained hit the Internet this week, showing off the impressive cast that Quentin Tarantino has assembled for his Inglourious Basterds followup. This film is full of Oscar winners and Oscar nominees, with Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio and Samuel L. Jackson all filling out significant roles.

While none of these actors (or the film or Tarantino himself) are the favorite right now to win an Oscar, DiCaprio seems to be inching up a lot of critics' rankings, moving in on Joaquin Phoenix's performance in The Master. Believe it or not, but despite working with prestigious directors like Martin Scorsese, DiCaprio has never won an Oscar, whether for Best Actor or Best Supporting Actor. He was nominated for Best Supporting Actor in 1993 for What's Eating Gilbert Grape and was nominated for Best Actor in 2004 for The Aviator and 2006 for Blood Diamond, but went home empty handed all three times. Personally, I think DiCaprio should've also received nominations in 2002 for Gangs of New York and 2006 for The Departed, but the Academy didn't agree with me in those years.

While we have to wait until February for the Oscars, you can watch the new trailer for Django Unchained after the jump and catch the film in theaters on Dec. 25, 2012.
