Jamie Foxx Sheds Some Light on the Secrets of 'Amazing Spider-Man 2's' Electro

In an interview with MTV, Jamie Foxx revealed a bit of what Sony, director Marc Webb and the actor himself were thinking about The Amazing Spider-Man 2's spin on Electro. SuperheroHype has the coverage:
"Marc Webb and all those guys who are doing it are smart. ... They know that it has to make sense in 2013 so the suit is really slick. It's not green. It's actually black. ... What you'll see is that, for [Max Dillion]'s whole life, no one is talking to him. People have stolen his ideas at the big company. He's a nobody. At a certain point, Spider-Man bumps into him and says, 'You're my guy. You're my ears and eyes on the street.' Then he says his name, [Max] and no one has ever said [Max] Dillon's name. He goes, 'Wow' and, when Spider-Man leaves, he sort of thinks that, "I am Spider-Man's partner!" He's cutting out Spider-Man's face and pasting it on all his boards... Everything goes bad with his mom. She doesn't remember his birthday. He has something tragic happen and, when it turns on, he lights it up."
Interesting take. The whole "company stealing his ideas" bit kind of reminds me of the Riddler's backstory in Batman and Robin. (I could be wrong on this one, but I'm not going to factcheck Batman and Robin. Don't make me revisit that movie.) While Webb and company played it pretty safe with the Lizard's story in The Amazing Spider-Man, it looks like they're planning on reinventing Electro in the sequel.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters on May 2, 2014, and stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Shailene Woodley, Foxx, Dane DeHaan and Martin Sheen.
