'Lincoln' Leads Golden Globes Film Nominations with 7 Nods

We'll get to the TV side of the Golden Globes nominations in a bit, but first, let's look at the film half of the list of nominations. Lincoln leads the pack with seven nominations while Argo and Django Unchained each have five. I'm actually kind of surprised at the love the Hollywood Foreign Press is giving Quentin Tarantino and Django Unchained, considering how much the film has slipped in the OscarIndex the past few weeks. Tarantino beat directors like David O. Russell, Tom Hooper and Paul Thomas Anderson to get his Best Director — Motion Picture nomination.

Personally, I can't stand that the Golden Globes breaks pretty much all of its film categories into Drama and Comedy or Musical. We shouldn't be separating the two types of films, especially when movies like Silver Linings Playbook straddle the line between the two.

Check out the full list of film nominees after the jump. The Golden Globes air on NBC on Jan. 13, 2013.
