So Zack Snyder's Not Developing a 'Star Wars' Standalone Film ... ?

Maybe super slowmo isn't coming to a galaxy far, far away after all? Zack Snyder's reps told The Hollywood Reporter that the news that the Man of Steel director would be helming a standalone Star Wars movie based on Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai was false.
"While he is super-flattered because he is a huge fan, Zack is not involved in any way with the new Star Wars. He is currently in post on his two films, Man of Steel and 300: Battle of Artemisia.”
That means no Episode VII, VIII or IX and no offshoot movies, the rep confirms.
Look, if Snyder's spokesperson says he's not involved with a Star Wars film, I gotta believe him, but where did Vulture get this news and what made it strong enough for them to run with it? Vulture is an offshoot of New York magazine. It's not some tabloid running rumors just to get traffic.

Technically nothing in Hollywood is true until it happens, and while Snyder may be busy with Man of Steel and the 300 prequel right now, who's to say he won't be busy by the time Disney and Lucasfilm are ready to open up the Star Wars galaxy?
