Kristen Wiig to Join Arrested Development: Who Will She Play?

News broke this morning that former Saturday Night Live castmember Kristen Wiig will be joining the cast of Arrested Development as a young Lucille Bluth. Also confirmed to join the cast is Seth Rogen.  While there has been no word about the role Rogen will be playing, Vulture confirmed that Wiig will be playing a young Lucille Bluth.

I have no doubts Wiig will be a natural as a young Lucille Bluth. As we saw from her SNL days, she can play a rich drunk lady pretty damn well (Kathie Lee, anyone?) and has a knack for hilarious disgusted looks (Aunt Linda). As you may recall, a majority of the Arrested Development cast came together in January to confirm the show's return and announce plans for a follow-up movie. No word yet if Wiig or Rogen will be in the movie.

Previously confirmed guest stars also include John Slattery, Ben Schwartz, Chis Diamantopoulos, Conan O'Brien, Andy Richter, Isla Fisher and Terry Crews. Arrested Development is scheduled to air via Netflix in mid-to-late May.
