TRAILER AND POSTER: Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer and Dianna Agron Must Protect 'The Family'
Robert De Niro playing a mobster-turned-informant in witness protection? You had me at Robert De Niro playing a mobster. The Family stars the actor as a mobster who, along with his family, has been moved to France as a result of turning on the mob and entering the witness protection program. Despite being removed from their former lives, the family has trouble adjusting. While De Niro's character is ready to turn over a new leaf, his wife and kids aren't ready to change. Popculturology included The Family (back when it was called Malavita) in our 10 Movies to Keep on Your Radar for the 2014 Oscars list. With Martin Scorcese on board as an executive producer, there's a good chance The Family will be worth it.
Michelle Pfeiffer plays the wife, while Dianna Agron plays the daughter. By the looks of the first trailer for The Family, Agron's character is quite the step away from her usual Glee role. If you ever wanted to see Agron smash a guy with a tennis racket, kick him in the balls and later shoot a gun, you need to check out the trailer for The Family.
The Family also stars Tommy Lee Jones and is directed by Luc Beeson. It hits theaters on Sept. 30, 2013. Check out the trailer and first poster for The Family after the jump.
