Freddie Prinze Jr. and David Oyelowo Lead Rumored 'Star Wars: Rebels' Voice Cast

Remember the days when Freddie Prinze Jr. was a big star? You were probably sitting in a General Cinemas, watching Summer Catch and thinking, "Man, this guy is going to the next big thing." While Prinze did accomplish one of our teenage dreams by marrying Sarah Michelle Gellar, his career hasn't exactly been on fire. That's going to change soon.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Prinze is among some kind of big names that Lucasfilm is in talks with for voice parts in Star Wars: Rebels, the next animated venture from the studio. Set in the time period between Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope, Rebels will focus on a group of, well, rebels as they fight against the young Empire.

In addition to Prinze, David Oyelowo, Vanessa Marshall, Taylor Gray and Steven Jay Blum are also in talks to join the project. Dave Filoni, the executive director of the acclaimed Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and Simon Kinberg are executive producing Star Wars: Rebels.

Sam Witwer has to voice a character in this show, right? The Star Wars uber fan has voiced Starkiller in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and Darth Maul in The Clone Wars. It's only a matter of time before he appears in one of new big, new Star Wars projects.

Star Wars: Rebels is scheduled to premiere on Disney XD some time in 2014.
