MTV Casts 'Victorious' Star Victoria Justice in 'Eye Candy,' Which Is Based on an RL Stine Novel
RL Stine is experiencing a renaissance in popularity. In addition to having a Goosebumps movie in the works (possibly starring Jack Black), Stine's novel Eye Candy is on its way to becoming a TV series at MTV. The network announced on Friday that Victorious star Victoria Justice will star in Eye Candy, providing the show successfully becomes a series.
Here's what TVLine has to say about Eye Candy:
Are hackers still cool? One of the main characters on Agents of SHIELD is a hacker. I dunno, hackers seem like such a 1990s concept. I'm hoping that Stine's book harkens back to 90s, possibly dropping some dial-up Internet and AOL free-hours CD references. I'm sure MTV will freshen things up with text messaging and young adult abs.
Here's what TVLine has to say about Eye Candy:
The cyber thriller — based on RL Stine’s novel of the same name — centers around Lindy (Justice), a beautiful but reclusive hacker whose blog exposes everything from terrorist plots to suspected killers. After her roommate convinces her to try online dating, Lindy is targeted by a dangerous cyber stalker, whom she believes is one of her suitors. When things take a deadly turn, she teams up with the city’s cyber-crime unit to catch the killer.
