Steve Carell's Satirical Police Procedural 'Tribeca' Gets Picked Up by TBS
Steve Carell is heading back to TV. He just won't be starring in a show. TVLine reports that Tribeca, a police procedural comedy from the Office actor, has been picked up by TBS. Carell will produce the series and direct its pilot.
So what makes this different from Andy Samberg's Brooklyn Nine-Nine? The age of the main character seems to be a bit older, but what's the new angle? Hopefully Carell lures some of his The Office costars to Tribeca. What's Jenna Fischer up to?
The half-hour, single-camera project is described as a satirical look at a police procedural anchored by Angie Tribeca, a 10-year veteran of the LAPD’S elite RHCU (Really Heinous Crimes Unit). Angie is surrounded by an eccentric but brilliant group of detectives who reveal way too much personal information, and refuse to rest until justice has been served (or not). These dedicated men and women are more than counter-intuitive; they are non-intuitive.
