'Watchmen' Star Patrick Wilson Joins Marvel's 'Ant-Man'
For a movie that was meant to deconstruct the superhero genre, Watchmen has a growing track record of cast and crew members signing up for real superhero movies. Watchmen director Zack Snyder went on to direct the Superman reboot Man of Steel and will also direct the upcoming Batman vs. Superman movie. And now, Patrick Wilson, Snyder's Watchmen star, has snagged a role in Marvel's Ant-Man.
Deadline broke the news on Thursday, also noting, "Not sure what role Wilson will play at this point." Beyond the initial casting news of Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas as Scott Lang and Hank Pym, we haven't gotten much more news from director Edgar Wright's movie. The last bit of information that trickled out was that Evangeline Lilly was in talks for Ant-Man's female lead. Like the Wilson news, it was also unclear just which character that female lead would be.
Ant-Man opens on July 17, 2015.
