'Get on Up' With Chadwick Boseman in Trailer for James Brown Biopic

After breaking into stardom playing one historical figure (Jackie Robinson in 42), Chadwick Boseman is at it again, playing James Brown in Get on Up, the upcoming biopic about the musical icon. The first trailer for Get on Up debuted on Thursday, giving us a look at Boseman as Brown.

Get on Up should be an Oscar contender. In addition to it being a biopic, the film is directed by Tate Taylor, who previously helmed The Help, a Best Picture nominee. Like The Help, Get on Up has an early August release date too.

In addition to Boseman, Get on Up stars Nelsan Ellis, Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer and Dan Aykroyd. The movie opens on Aug. 1.
