'HIMYM' Spinoff Adds 'Smash' Star Krysta Rodriguez, Finds Its Version of Barney

I love How I Met Your Mother, but the more time I have to think about How I Met Your Dad, its upcoming spinoff, the more I'm against the idea. It would be one thing to take the spirit of HIMYM and try to apply that to another series. That doesn't seem to be what's happening with HIMYD, though. The classic HIMYM characters have pretty much had their names, professions and sexual orientations changed for HIMYD, which is apparently enough to justify a new show.

With its Ted (Greta Gerwig as Sally) and half of its Marshall/Lily (Drew Tarver as Todd) cast, HIMYD has found its Barney, with Entertainment Weekly reporting that Smash star Krysta Rodriguez has won the role of Juliet. According to a character description we got a few weeks ago, Juliet is "Sally’s sexy, flamboyant, energetic, party-girl BFF. She runs a successful fashion blog. She’s delighted to learn Sally is ending things with the terminally boring Gavin."

I wonder what Juliet's catchphrase will be.
