Ryan Phillippe May Be in Talks With Marvel for IRON FIST on Netflix

Is Ryan Phillippe on the verge of joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Based on what the actor told Howard Stern on Wednesday, there's a chance Phillippe may be in line for Iron Fist.

"I'm meeting with … Marvel is interested in talking about Netflix, a series possibly," Phillippe told Stern.



Iron Fist will be the fourth series in Marvel and Netflix's partnership, following Daredevil, AKA Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. Charlie Cox is already leading Daredevil, and Krysten Ritter and Lance Gross have been cast as the leads in AKA Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. If Phillippe is talking to Marvel about a Netflix series, it must be Iron Fist.

Phillippe followed up his comments to Stern with a tweet later on Wednesday.

That smiley face emoji at the of his tweet really sells Phillippe's point, doesn't it? Like every casting rumor when it comes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, everyone denies everything until Marvel Studios makes an official announcement.

Iron Fist doesn't have a premiere date yet. We're set to see Season 2 of Daredevil and the premiere of AKA Jessica Jones in 2016. We won't see Iron Fist until 2017 at the earliest.
