Fox Cancels THE MINDY PROJECT -- But the Show Could Live on With Hulu

Fox ended The Mindy Project's tenure on the network, canceling the show after three seasons. The Mindy Kaling series had always struggling in the ratings, so this doesn't come as a shocker. This doesn't mean that The Mindy Project will hang up its scrubs, though — Hulu is in talks to pick up the show for two more seasons.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Mindy Project has performed well on the streaming service, and Hulu is now in talks with Universal Television about adding the series to its stable of original programming.

How will The Mindy Project do on Hulu? It'll be similar to Community's jump to Yahoo Screen ... but without the rabid fanbase that Community had. The current season of Community hasn't lived up to previous seasons, with the show's streaming nature sucking some of the must-watch nature out of it. Maybe Adam Pally can find time in his schedule to stay on the show now.
