Pixar Revamps THE GOOD DINOSAUR Voice Cast
When the first teaser trailer for The Good Dinosaur debuted earlier this month, we were all under the impression that the voice cast would be led by Lucas Neff, John Lithgow, Frances McDormand, Neil Patrick Harris, Judy Greer and Bill Hader. Turns out most of that cast won't be featured in the movie.
Disney Insider reported on Friday that Pixar Studios had revamped the voice cast for The Good Dinosaur, jettisoning Neff, Lithgow, Hader, Harris and Greer. Only McDormand made the reshuffle, and she'll still voice Momma.
Raymond Ochoa replaces Neff as the voice of Arlo, the main dinosaur in the movie. The Hunger Games' Jeffrey Wright replaces Lithgow as the voice of Poppa, the father of Arlo. black-ish's Marcus Scribner will voice Buck, the brother of Arlo. This character replaces Forrest, the brother dinosaur that Hader was originally voicing. Pixar has cut Harris and Greer's characters from The Good Dinosaur all together.
Disney Insider did reveal that The Good Dinosaur has added some new characters and actors to voice them: Steve Zahn as pterodactyl Thunderclap, AJ Buckley as T-Rex Nash, Anna Paquin as T-Rex Ramsey, Sam Elliott as T-Rex Butch and Jack Bright as human Spot.
This is quite the turnover. Pixar already replaced director Bob Peterson with Pete Sohn. After the trailer for The Good Dinosaur debuted, we got a few reports that Lithgow and the other castmembers had returned to voice their lines again. When did Pixar pull the plug on that cast?
The Good Dinosaur is set to hit theaters on Nov. 25.
