Amy Schumer and Jennifer Lawrence Are Co-Writing and Will Star in a Comedy Together

Turns out that when Amy Schumer and Jennifer Lawrence were out jet-skiing together a few weeks ago that was just the beginning of the partnership between the two actresses. Lawrence revealed on Wednesday that she and the Trainwreck star are almost done co-writing a comedy that they'll star in together.

"We play sisters. We're almost done writing. It just flowed out of us. We,ve got about 100 pages right now," Lawrence told The New York Times. "Amy and I were creatively made for each other. We have different flavors. It's been the most fun experience of my life. We start the day off on the phone, laughing. And then we send each other pages. And we crack up. I'm flying out tomorrow to see her in Chicago. We'll write a little bit with her sister, Kim, who worked with Amy when she was writing Trainwreck."

It's actually shocking that no one has put Lawrence in a comedy yet. Sure, movies like Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle had humorous elements to them, but Winter's Bone is a LONG way from Trainwreck. Anyone who has seen Lawrence on a late-night show or watched her give an award acceptance speech knows that the Hunger Games actress doesn't shy away from a joke.

No word yet when the Schumer-Lawrence comedy will hit theaters. Schumer did confirm the scoop. During her interview with the Times, Lawrence shot Schumer a text to let her know that the newspaper now knew about their working partnership.

"I wrote, 'I just spilled the beans to The New York Times. Is that O.K.?'" Lawrence said. "And Amy wrote back, 'That you're gay? Totally! It’s exciting!'"
