STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON Wins Third Straight Weekend; WE ARE YOUR FRIENDS Has One of the Worst Opening Weekends Ever

Straight Outta Compton scored its third straight victory at the box office this weekend. The film grossed $13.2 million, bringing its domestic total to $134.1 million. With little competition as the summer wraps up, Straight Outta Compton has been able to dominate the box office.

None of the new releases this past weekend were able to find traction. While War Room and No Escape broke into the top five, We Are Your Friends found its way to make the headlines. The Zac Efron film had the fourth lowest opening weekend for a release in over 2,000 theaters. We Are Your Friends could only scrounge up a measly $1.8 million — just $722 per screen. Only Oogieloves In The BIG Balloon Adventure, Delgo and Saw's tenth anniversary release have performed worse.
